Research Fellow
Emma Lovell is a Research Fellow in the Global Risks and Resilience Programme at ODI. She has over 12 years’ experience working at the interface of social inclusion, gender equality, climate change, disaster risk reduction, resilience and sustainable development. Emma leads the strategy on equity and social inclusion in risk management. She has worked with and advised a range of governments, UN agencies, civil society organizations, foundations, multilateral and regional organizations on policies, strategies and implementation around the nexus between social inclusion, the environment and sustainable development. She has worked globally and supported policy development and project implementation across South Asia, South-east Asia, East Africa and the Caribbean. Before ODI, Emma worked in Asia for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) South-East Asia Regional Office.
