Frejus THOTO is the Benin National Representative. He is 22 years old and is about to complete his MSc in Agricultural economics. He got the Certificate of “Science and Policy of Climate Change” from TERI and the World Bank. Frejus is a young expert in climate change adaptation and managed several projects with organization like UNEP, UNDP, IDRC, etc. He is currently the Executive Director of ACED an NGO devoted to sustainable development.
He has received several awards and the latest was the “Best Presentation Award” in Chad during the CORAF/WECARD Third Agricultural Science Week of West and Central Africa where he presented the article “Meteorological and Indigenous knowledge based forecasting for reducing poor populations’ vulnerability to climate change and variability”
Frejus demonstrated a strong commitment to youth capacity building. He initiated and managed two projects funded by the European Union and the United Nations for Beninese youth capacity building in agribusiness. He is the National Representative of the Youth Partnership for Agricultural Resaerch for Development (YPARD)
Moreover, he initiated and is coordinating YouDev the “International Youth Platform for Sustainable Development”. He is also endowed with acceptable ICT, Web 2.0 and knowledge management capacities with relevant abilities in Drupal Platform.
