Greener Ethiopia is a non-profit, non-political organization, registered in February 2010 GC (registration no. 1336) according to the new country regulation. GE was founded in 2002 GC by a private group of individuals deeply concerned about the deforestation and resulting poverty of their country. The 38% forest cover
that once existed in Ethiopia was in recent years reduced to less than 3%, leading to devastating effects on the health and wealth of Ethiopians. GE is firmly committed to reversing this problem
