Research Fellow
After a 20 year career in coastal policy, planning and management in the Tasmanian State government (Australia), I am now working in two areas. Both of these place climate adaptation as a high priority:
with NGOs in Tasmania on improving the coastal policy framework and implementation in this State. We have formed a 'think tank' providing expert input in to the development of a new coastal planning and management franework for this island State.
I am also a part time research fellow at the University of Tasmania, working on a part of a much larger project looking at knowledge-action systems related to coastal management. Our case studies include some significant projects in coastal adaptation to sea level rise/climate change.
I am also an active member of the Australian Coastal Society which places climate adaptation in Australia's coastal zone as a high priority.
