Operations Manager
As Operations Manager at InsightShare, I support our team with a broad range of activities - ranging from PV facilitation, project management and logistics, communications to internal systems design, HR and events organisation. I also coordinate and facilitate our 6-day 'Introduction to Participatory Video' courses during which we train development practitioners and community workers. Whilst supporting our 'Conversations with the Earth' programme, I wrote a thesis on the use of participatory video to support and promote indigenous-led biocultural diversity conservation initiatives, in the context of changing local climates. As part of a Msc in Sustainable Development I am currently exploring the value of participatory video for farmer to farmer sharing and to spread permaculture practice, knowledge, skills and technologies. My background is in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology. During my degree I specialised in media and ICT4D and visual anthropology more specifically. I carried out fieldwork with extreme right youth and homeless people and produced two documentaries. Before moving to the UK, I was vice-chair for anthropological discussion organisation WDO and worked for the Dutch Foundation 'Wij Helpen Daar' as the project manager of a cross-community reconciliation camp in Sarajevo.
