Adaptation and sustainable development

The purpose of the Global Forest Observations Initiative Methods and Guidance Document (MGD) is to provide countries with advice relevant to their development of national forest monitoring, and measuring, reporting and verifying systems that use remotely sensed and ground-based data. The MGD provides information that can be customized to fit individual country circumstances and cope with both preferences and evolution in technology.

This report sets out strategies to promote sustainable grow in Ontario’s forest sector, encouraging innovation and investment in the industry. The strategy draws on input from the public, Indigenous communities, municipalities and industry. Learn how the Government of Ontario plans to reduce barriers, create jobs and promote economic growth, while ensuring the future sustainability Ontario forests.

In this study, a step-by-step methodology of climate risk assessment for infrastructure, namely the PIEVC Engineering Protocol (the “Protocol”), was used to assess the climate risk of the Cai Lon - Cai Be sluice gates.
